Gardens for small apartments in San Antonio
œWhy € â € ™ t I can not grow tomatoes in San Antonio? â €
No garden is complete without home grown tomatoes. However, many gardeners complain of Texas how difficult it is to cultivate a Nice culture. A common reason is that all gardening books (and even the label on the Tomato Plants) say to plant tomatoes in the sun. In many parts of the United States it works, but if you live in Texas, in direct sunlight can burn the plants during the sweltering summer months. This also applies to other plants and herbs such as basil and peppers.
Câ € ™ is for this reason, more and plus a vegetable garden in a controlled environment has its advantages. If you have a balcony or terrace, vegetable plants in pots work great because you can move and control the balance of sunlight and shadow. (Keep in mind that San Antonio, â € œfull Suna really can say â € € € Suna œpartial.) Make sure your pots are inside a drainage hole, then use the recommended mix of garden soil and compost for plants to ensure healthy growth.
Many vegetables and almost any plant can grow in a single pot. Some vegetables more easy to grow in containers penthouse include tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, pole beans and lettuce. If you want to include some fruit, strawberries, and even some fruit trees grow well in a large pot on your patio.
â € œWhat if I have no place in my small apartment patio for all boats? â €
Fortunately for you hanging upside down plants have arrived! They occupy no space and are easy to install since a strong hook or stick to hang. Â You've probably seen the Topsy Turvy tomato planters advertising popular television. However, a regular 5 gallon bucket of great work too! Drill a hole 2-ich in the bucket, insert your nursery through the hole (face down), then fill the bucket with soil and fertilizer. Tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers grow well in reverse, because they are not as sensitive damage caused by rodents and insects.
â € œWhat if my small apartment patio receives no sunlight? â €
If your house is in San Antonio and do not receive sunlight can be a rarity in Texas. However, everything is possible and that doesn € ™ t mean you can not enjoy € ™ t of vegetables grown at home anyway. Modern technology has made possible the growing herbs and vegetables all year round, rain or shine. Self lighting and irrigation systems, as Areogarden may be the solution you are looking for. They occupy minimal space and virtually foolproof. Just set the Areogarden on the kitchen counter, plug in and watch the plants grow.
No matter what type of space are currently living in the lack of cooperation or how the weather can be in San Antonio, you can join the popular trend the basis of increasing their own organic fruits, herbs and vegetables. Not only is economic (mostly), but Itâ € ™ s generally much healthier and tastier too.
