Transplanting of tomatoes
Well, time is here. You have ceased to grow and maintain their tomato bits in the last six to eight weeks and it is time to put them in the garden. Do not worry. You'll be fine. Transplanting of tomatoes is not rocket science really.
For two gardening upper thirds of the country not to plant your tomatoes at least until Memorial Day. In fact, when I lived in Vermont, we never planted crops This warm season until the first full moon of June Tomatoes are part of a crop of so-called "submission" by year.
What makes them tender? The cold. Anything below 55-60 degrees at night and the tomatoes are not happy. Planting weekend around Memorial Day, which will guarantee not lose their tomatoes in a cold spell. No, you do not have ripe tomatoes first quarter of July. But you'll have a very good performance in August, when Plants are early risers begin to die again.
Prepare the garden bed before removing the seeds of its cup. You want a deep depression pleasant planting inches instead of digging a deep hole, be sure to dig a path to define your Tomato Plant down. The mound is located at the foot of the valley and the plant goes to the head. You may not need to ensure that the floor of a trellis or tomato cage right away, but just be prepared to do.
Next, remove all games and links seedling plants that supported their Tomato Plants as they grew in their cups of seedlings. Then gently massage sides seedling cup to loosen the soil. Place your hand on top of the cup with the stem of the tomato plant between your index and middle fingers. In turn the cup over so as a result of the land the ball in the palm of your hand and pull the cup with his free hand.
When you remove the plant gently cup seeding has been the root ball and rod in the groove until the true leaves. They are the first set of leaves that were produced during germination.
The best of this process is that roots grow tomatoes on the stem and roots to continue growing in the mound. Plant tomatoes in this way guarantee the root base stronger and better fruit. Does this mean you can not plant traditionally deep hole? Certainly not. I found, however, my tomato plants are stronger when they are placed in a groove instead of sitting in a hole.
Tomatoes are so voracious consumers to feed both weeks or less liquid fertilizer. In late summer and fall, check a nasty chewing tomato called the tomato hornworm. They are intelligent and dress in the color of the plant, so they are difficult to see. Look for Green Tomato plants with white stripes. These insects destroy a tomato when it is necessary to change opinions.
Well, maybe not as fast, but I've never seen a factory to reduce current and half-eaten fruit in the course of a few days. When you see a … and you … clip of branch that sits on the kill. I can give some comments about killing a living, but I can not imagine anything beneficial tomato horn worm did. If you know one, please email me.
