If a tomato flies at a wall?
Is it ever possible for the tomato to punch a hole in the wall? With a lot of force behind the tomato is it ever possible or will the tomato just go splat at the wall no matter how fast it is flying. Like eg. speed of sound and beyond
And the tomato flies with a lot of acceleration too. Basically the end result is a lot of force in the tomato flying at the wall.
It can punch through a wall if its speed is high enough.
Think of it this way. The energy it take for a tomato to splat is fixed. So once that’s exceeded the energy of the collision will have to go somewhere and that’s when it starts breaking the bonds in the wall and if it is sufficient it will punch through the wall.
Think water knife, at high enough pressure in which case it really translates to speed it will cut steel
