Sow seeds and planting vegetables Seeedlings
Sow seeds and planting material for transplantation
After of it in his pond had been built and everything in its place will be ready for other activities to follow. You should collect the materials in preparation for sowing seeds.
Planting Seeds
Before sowing seeds, tools and materials are prepared.
The following materials must be hand …
- rice husk charcoal
- coir dust coconut
- Chicken manure (soil media / GroWell average)
- growth / germination trays
- shovel
- Gloves
- measuring containers filled
- seeds.
If your soil above are not available may use mixtures Media old ground with a ratio of 1:1:1 (for example, garden soil, manure and sand).
The garden soil and animal manure should be properly sterilized before mixing.
The quality of their seeds are the determining factors for the success of your business.
Select the best quality seeds to ensure that you can get more benefits than you want to accomplish.
Characteristics of good seed quality
1) Damage free. The seeds must be free from physical or chemical damage that could affect their viability.
Seeds 2) Free mixing with other varieties. must be absolutely pure, unmixed seed.
For avoid mixing with other varieties of isolation distance for seed production must be at least 45-360 meters pepper, eggplant 400-900 meters and 30-60 meters of the tomato.
3) free of seed borne diseases. The seed of the parents affected by diseases take their offspring and affects the entire population, thus reducing its performance. Select disease free seeds for maximum return on investment.
4) good vigor and germination ability. Select seeds that are viable, high germination percentage (85% germination) and healthy.
To make sure you buy the seeds that will only producer of certified seed known stores.
The factors of seed germination
- Feasibility. Check the expiration date, Brand and storage. Store seeds in a glass container and sealed with desiccant, wood ash free (absorbs moisture), charcoal (to prevent attacks by pests) and naphthalene.
Place the seeds stored in cool and dry all in a normal room temperature.
- Ground. Vigorous seed germination depends on the type of culture medium 'll use.
This step is crucial because the plants depends on their food to feed the mixture we have prepared.
The A culture medium Recommended
1) rice husk charcoal (60%)
2) powder coconut coconut (30%)
3) chicken manure (10%)
Coconut coir dust and ownership of poultry manure should be sterilized to kill harmful bacteria, fungi and viruses that May affect your plantings.
You can still follow the old soil preparation in the absence of these ingredients, as some sand, one part compost and one part garden soil.
But exactly the same, you have to sterilize all means to prevent the emergence over the disease.
Sterilization can do everything from heating the soil above the average heating over the fire about 30 minutes an hour, or expose to direct sunlight for at least a day.
- Sowing Technique. Germination of seeds can be carried out
Following these methods, drying in the sun, soaking in hot water or more, scarification, this will be discussed later.
- The seeds of the temperature. Depending on the temperature requirements.
The thermal requirements seeds of different vegetables …
Day 1) Cucurbits – 30 – 35 ° C for 3 -7
2) Solanaceae – 20 -30 ° C for 5 -10 days
3) Brassicas / cole – 15 -20 C for 3-4 days
Stocking density computing
To calculate the seeding rate is based on the standard plot size (1 x 20 meters). To give the right number of seeds to plant in one size 1 x 20 meters plot, below are examples of how to calculate the correct amount of seeds:
Formula:
Pop'n plant. = Length of Parcel X (number of rows x number of sites)
The distance seed
Example: Eggplant
Taking into account the size of the plant – 1 x 20 meters
Spacing – 60 – 70 cm
Number of rows – 2
Number of plots – 14 plots
Mortality rate – 30%
The capacity of biodiversity – 104 holes
Calculation:
- Pop'n plant. = 20 x (2 x 14)
70 cm/.7 m
= 28.57 x (2 x14)
= 800 x 3
= 240 + 800
= 1040 seeds
= 1040
104 plants / germination cover pan.
= 10 trays of seedlings required
Based in the calculation of the formula we came up with the number of seeds needed to twenty meters single parcel.
At a distance of 60-70 (cm 70 cm was used) and two rows per plot.
We have assumed a mortality rate of 30% and seedlings / tray to use the germination capacity of 104 holes.
We fifty-seven of seeds per plot multiplied by fourteen parcels must therefore 1040 and ten seeds seed / germination trays needed to germinate seeds.
Different cultures vary in their planting distance, so you can calculate the number of seeds on the basis of the distance requirements.
More planting distance, the more number of seeds needed.
Planting Techniques
Seed germination of seeds of vegetables depends on how they are resolved before the start of germination trays. This includes environmental quality GroWell to use.
Before sowing the trays germination of seeds of certain activities should be done:
- Soaking. Generally, seeds are soaked in water for thirty minutes to an hour before planting (Ampalaya, UPO, Patola, squash, cucumber, honeydew melon, cantaloupe and Waterrmelon).
- Cutting. Use a nail clipper the end of the seed near the embryo is cut off, after soaking in the tray and seed germination of one seed per hole (Ampalaya and Patola UPO).
- Pinching. This process is only applicable to the pumpkin.
After soaking the seeds for 30 minutes at a time, pinch the tip near the embryo and seed in the tray of seedlings in a seed per hole.
Be careful not to pinch too hard seeds. Press the seeds lightly just to open the final. Pinching enhances the ease of the plumule.
- Incubation. Only watermelon (seeded and seedless).
After soaking for thirty minutes to an hour, the seeds were incubated with a damp cotton cloth and place in a makeshift from the comics for 24-36 hours after planting one seed per hole in the tray (seedless watermelon).
For the seedless variety, the same procedure applies, but near the tip of the embryo was cracked before sowing.
- Direct sowing / planting. Sow the seeds directly in the germination tray two seeds per hole (chilli, tomato and eggplant) and two to three seeds per hole (Lettuce, Pechay, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower).
Carrot and radish seeds directly sown in the field for two seats per row. Carrots and radishes were not seeded in the drawer germination because its roots are damaged during transplanting and becomes abnormal or deformed – not good for the market.
Bush / Polo Sita, the asparagus, green beans 1-2 seeds per hill.
How to Build Twin
Once you've done with nursery operations, especially in seed germination, followed by construction of plots or beds in preparation for transplanting seedlings.
The ideal size of their plots should be 1 x 20 meters. But you can use 1 x 10 meters if your area is not wide enough. An image size is shorter and easier to manipulate can operate in a manner that would be much easier to handle. It is understood that the land was already plow and harrow and ready for construction land or beds.
Use a shovel and pickaxe grub the land after the exact desired position (1 x 20 m or 1 x 10 m plot size), depending on the size of your garden.
Once you've built your plots, the next step is covered with black plastic.
Plastic mulch is a new technology used in horticulture. It has the following advantages.
Benefits a plastic mulch.
1) control the growth of weeds.
2) Keep the soil moisture
3) Prevent soil erosion
4) Prevents leaching of soil
5) provides aeration
6) repellent
7) Avoid or limit any virus or infection.
How to Install Plastic Mulch
1) Dig two ends of the earth with the use of a shovel or a spade.
2) Place the end of the plastic mulch and cover with excavated soil.
3) compact the soil by step to keep the plastic mulch in place.
4) Add a pole inside the plastic cover enough for 2 people can have on both ends.
5) with two people who both ends Plastic padding has been gradually on the top cover until the end of the road.
6) compensation reserve meters before reaching the end of the road.
7) The extension of plastic mulch to achieve the final image that extends partially excavated.
Cover with the excavated soil similar to other final frame.
9) Cut the plastic mulch at the end of the bridge.
10) Hold both sides the plastic cover with a wire 6 inches or slots tie bamboo two feet of the bra.
11) Located in a diagonal position, covering up the end of the runway.
12) Make holes in the plastic lid in a triangle with an empty sardine can Sharp Point large or charcoal hot. A chain also plans to make holes right.
13) The distance between holes may vary depending on the desired distance of specific planting to harvest.

Transplant Methods
Seeds vary in their method of seeding based on their ability to regenerate root development. Some are planted directly in the field, while others are raised in trays of sprouting.
Hold account the following factors before planting:
- Cost and availability of seeds.
- The ability regeneration of root crops.
- Growth rate of seeds.
All vegetables are not able to regenerate its root system, it must be placed directly on the ground, while the small seeds should be planted in trays before being transplanted.
There are some seeds that grow rapidly [eg mountain kangkong (water spinach).
Carrots and radishes should be planted directly in the field to avoid root deformation.
Spacing
1) Squash – 80 – 100 cm. between the heights of a line and fashion triangle.
2) UPO, Patola and Ampalaya – 80 – 100 cm from the ridgeline.
Cm 3) melons, watermelons and melons – 60 – 80 between two rows of hills.
4) Cucumber – 40 60 cm between two rows of hills
5) pepper, tomato, eggplant, okra – 60 – 70 in two lines of hills, distant from 60 to 80 cm for plots
6) cabbage, Chinese cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower – 40 50 cm between two rows of hills
7) Lettuce (Head type) – 20 cm between the hills of three rows of
upland kangkong (water spinach), Pechay and lettuce (foil) – 15 to 20 cm between hills four rows
9) Beans – 30 – 40 cm between hills two rows.
Techniques in Transplantation
1) Make holes in the plastic mulch on edge can use tin or a box with hot coals.
2) Water the hole if the soil is dry for transplantation.
3) digging through the use the shovel hole.
4) transplanting seedlings during cool and cloudy. On sunny days of transplantation in the afternoon.
5) Get the care of seedlings germinating tray by pressing down the base to promote the seedlings after transplanting.
6) planting of water often morning and afternoon.
7) Regularly monitor the plants missing hills and pest and disease outbreaks. To the hills brought disappeared after replanting.
