Yellow leaves on tomato plants?

I'm new to gardening. I planted tomatoes in the garden of plastic pots. They are goes well, except that the leaves in the bottom of the plants turn yellow. This happens only at the base of plants, the tops are lush and green. I read a little gardening forum that excess water could be the culprit. I check my plants every day and if the soil is dry-ish, I water them. It is very hot here in the south, so you usually need (I think …) every day. I water the morning before the sun is too hot. Am I watering too much? If yes, is there a way to fix it, or simply stop watering for a few days to see if it improves? Could be something completely different? All tips for green thumbs in it would be very appreciated. Thank you!

haha you hard to be too hard with yourself for tomatoes naturally die back somewhat in the background so well, I grow tomatoes too much water mine every Monday, Wednesday, Friday Rule of thumb to keep a water hose and points to the base of the plant and count to five, while irrigation. Look up its forecast each week to see if it will rain to make adjustments to the watering schedule. The only time I really worry about yellow leaves on your tomatoes is when the top center of the plant is yellow then you may have the problem of nutrients.
