Green Tomato Chutney Tomato Recipe
I am certainly not a gardener, but I love my grandchildren and when I called to buy seeds, let you choose for each package. Chloe was the largest package of mixed flowers, and I thought I could cope. But the youngest Bethany crossed One of these stages that children go through. She had taken to eating tomatoes as if they were apples, never tired of them.

The weather was mild for what should have been, as it was in May and we were too late to sow the seeds of tomatoes. Two weeks passed and the flowers began to show, but there was no sign tomatoes. Two more weeks passed and as I had given up. Bethany ran inside, everybody is happy.
"Come see my grandfather, who are growing."

It is now September 30, the plants are 5 feet tall, tomato, and are still blossoms. Bethany is on the Moon and hopes of picking fruit in the first place, or should I say vegetables? But as the fall in October, nothing in the world will due and to avoid disappointment, I decided after consultation with the great lady, my mother, turning them into chutney. Show recipe below. For indeed, the flowers blooming Chloe, although almost complete.
Green tomato chutney.
This will make 5 to 6 pounds.
Ingredients
4 pounds green tomatoes
1 pounds apples
Onions 1 Pound
8 ounces raisins
2 pounds brown sugar
1/2oz salt
1/2oz ginger root
1 oz mustard seed
11 / 2 liter of malt vinegar
Method
Cut the tomatoes, peel, core and cut apples, cut the onions and cut the raisins.
Bruise the ginger and tie in a muslin bag.
Place all ingredients in a saucepan, bring to boil and simmer until the vinegar has been absorbed. (Approximately 2 hours) At this point you should be able to take a wooden spoon into the mixture and makes an impression.
Remove bag of ginger chutney spread on warm, dry bottles screw CAP and wax discs placed on top of each.
Cover the jars with a clean cloth until cool.
Screw caps (Make sure they are the first test vinegar) label and store in a cool cupboard.
