Some benefits of fresh tomatoes

Before going into the advantages of growing fresh tomatoes, we make a thorough study on this vehicle (actually a fruit, but mainly used as vegetable). This delicious and nutritious fruit is the basis of a variety of dishes in many cultures. But did you deliciously edible fruit that had formerly known to be toxic? REALLY! In fact, it was not until the 19th century that people in the United States have begun to eat. What a shame.

Have you noticed that I called the tomato fruit. Scientifically speaking, it is. In fact, "vegetables" is the cooking term, not a scientist.

By studying the history brief behind us, we will deepen the culture of this fruit.

And there are several good reasons to try your hand at growing tomatoes:

  • save money in difficult economic situation;
  • obtain satisfaction the growth of its own production;
  • enjoy the added benefit of knowing that this fruit is also good for your health. Moreover, nothing compares with the taste of tomatoes at us.

With the economy more or less stagnant, people are looking for ways to save money. The growing your own sounds like a good option. How difficult is it? It is not difficult at all. This is one of the most common plants in gardens family in the United States, and is increasingly popular with organic farmers.

You do not have space for a garden? Do you worry. When selecting a smaller type variety, these plants do not really need much space that can be grown in containers on patios or balconies. Your plants need 6-8 hours of sunlight per day, good soil, enough water, an organic slow release fertilizer and a container with good drainage.

If you have space for a vegetable garden, then by all means try your luck at growing tomatoes. You do not need staking, pruning, water and weeds. But instead of looking at what tasks, focus on the benefits of this Activity: delicious fruit that is not only delicious but good for you, and you get your exercise!

In addition to the enjoyment of growing your own production and save money, the tomatoes are just for you. They are rich in vitamins A, B and C, potassium, iron, phosphorus and naturally low in calories.

They are an excellent source of lycopene, a carotenoid pigment of bright red phytochemicals responsible for giving tomatoes their bright red color. Lycopene is considered one of the most powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants fight free radicals that can interfere with normal cell growth and activities. Free radicals can potentially lead to cancer, heart disease and premature aging. Even in the study for the prevention certain cancers, especially prostate cancer.
