Tomatoes and other vegetables are easy to grow if you start with good soil. Before planting your garden, tilling the soil to a depth of about four inches and dig a little well rotted compost or other organic matter. Complete this step several weeks before you want to plant your tomatoes.
For a larger garden, you can rent a rod helm, but for a small garden space, you can use a garden fork to dig in compost.
When the risk of frost, sink participation of ¾ inch into the garden bed preparation. Dig a hole a little deeper and wider than the pot size by the fire at the plant tomatoes, gently place the plant in the hole and the company in a mesh cage or tomatoes may also be used for support rather than a party. They are readily available in nurseries and hardware stores. Use wire ties or soft tomato to bind the stem of the plant vaguely game or trellis. Feed Your Tomato Plants

Watering is very important as food. Water your tomatoes regularly with a hose in hand. Direct the water at the base of the plant and avoid wetting the leaves, which can lead to decay.
Never let your tomatoes dry to the point where they fade. Although you can usually save the wilted plant by irrigation, the dry period will be felt in the plant and affect the quality of the fruit. Periods of prolonged drought may cause your tomatoes crack.
Regularly cut the side shoots that grow between the leaf and stem. This will help channel energy the plant as a fruit.
When tomatoes are ripe, pick them by folding the fruit into the slot of the mother. Ripe tomatoes can be stored refrigerate up to one week. Continue to water and plant food to help the remaining tomatoes to ripen.

Help with box of organic produce for meal planning! Many fruits and vegetables!?
We just joined an environmental service offering a box of produce each week. I need help with meals and desserts / recipes with few ingredients below. Suggestions?-Pears Granny Smith (10), oranges, grapes, basil (a group of big and beautiful)-Potatoes (6-Yukon Gold) tomato-celery-beet (4) – 2 Red and Yellow Onions Any good dinner ideas including some of this? You can roast using some potatoes, an onion or two, a little basil, celery and if you enjoy cooking. If you do not eat red meat, make your roast as normal, except chicken substitute for beef. Chicken skin, but leave the bones for cooking. Everything tastes better with chicken coked in the bone for some reason. You can do it on the stove or in an electric slow cooker. Apples, pears, oranges, grapes and sounds like a very good start for a fruit salad. It would take neither. For the base of the "cream", using yogurt and honey lightly. A hint of vanilla and cinnamon makes it more tasty, as food in autumn.
